Two years since we moved out of the big house
Five months since we hit the road
Location: Kenney Grove Park, Fillmore, CA. Our last morning here. Heading out this afternoon. Gonna' hit the road again with a long journey ahead of us.
Outside: mid-50s, foggy, almost drizzling earlier; sunny now
Hubby is: finishing one last job in the park and then we hitch up
Recent happenings: I've been celebrating the month of May with lots of fun stuff. On purpose. Because I knew I might struggle with being away from Michigan in May. It has been good. Fun times.
Surprises: This place has held some surprises for me - mostly fun ones. Interesting ones.
Made me happy: Facetime with grands last night. Hearing little guy say "I wuv oo, Gumba."
Makes me sad: Not being around to help while he has surgery and after
Noticed: It is lots easier to pack for a big trip when you don't have to move from one "home" to another. When most of your stuff is already stowed away where it belongs.
Blessings: This rig and this place
Accomplishments: Cleaned out the shed, sorted through our books and packed them away for travel, all kinds of other sorting and stowing
Working on: securing things for travel
Considering: which new notebook to christen as my official writing notebook for this journey
Lessons: Life is simpler with fewer things. Less stuff. Yep, yep.
Looking forward to: watching the sun set over the ocean tonight and falling asleep to the sound of the waves
